Feeling : Tired

Another week, and another month goes by!

Yet another busy month both at work and at home. Still no more progress on my CNE, I really need to get my head down and get on with that...who knows what it might bring. Been busy looking at lots of new Novell stuff. In the progress of rolling out iPrint and also trying to get Groupwise 6.5 out for a trial and hopefully a company-wide deployment after that....that really would be nice! Add to that a cluster upgrade from 6.0 to 6.5 and you can see why I've been busy :)

Once again I tried to get my ticket to Brainshare and failed miserably. Only upside on the work front right now is that my working week has been reduced from 40 hours to 37. Bonus! A few more hours to myself at any rate...

Feeling : Annoyed

So here I am at 4am....wide awake.

Why? Well, a combination of things really. I've not been feeling too well for the last couple of days, some kind of flu like virus. Hardly made it out of bed yesterday and I think that just made me feel even worse, so today I decide to get up and actually move around. It worked for a while, but decided to get on the bed about 5:30pm this afternoon when I got a phonecall. Turned out to be a major mistake as I slept for about 6 hours after I put the phone down and now I'm wide awake!

So what else is new? I'm giving up smoking! Yup, you did read that right...

I've finally come to the conclusion that I'm gonna quit the weed when my current stock of duty free smokes run out. I have about 8 packs left in the house so I'm guessing that sometime next weekend is when I'll actually be quitting. Life is gonna be fun around me for a while, I'm like a bear with a sore head in a morning before coffee, so god knows what I'm gonna be like without nicotine...I'll let you know, if I'm not locked up for murder....

Feeling : Relieved

After another prolonged absence, due in no small part to a total lack of motivation to do anything really...I'm back.

Why am I relieved? Well, it has to do with my current housing situation and the fact that I'm renting the house I live in. It would seem that my landlord is unsure of what he wants to do with the property, either continue letting it or sell it. For the past few weeks, my future living arrangements have been uncertain, but as of last night I know I'll have a roof over my head, for the next few months at least....

Methinks it might be time to settle down and actually invest in some property in the near future. I guess I should have done it a long time ago, but with one thing and another my future has been uncertain, at least as far as where I will be living. These things seem to have settled down now. I'm not altogether happy, and not sure that I'm doing the right thing but sometimes you need something more solid that hope to live on...

Feeling : Undecided

And so the first month of the new year is already gone. Damn time moves fast as you get older!

Not much new happening here, still studying....as you can probably tell by the lack of updates here. Picked up the latest addition to my server farm today, nice looking thing, I'll try and take a couple of pics and stick them up here at some point.

The one interesting thing that's happened, Demon Internet are trying to take me to court...for outstanding payments from Oct 2002 to Oct 2003. I know what you're thinking.....should've paid your bill! Yep, interesting thing is that this account was cancelled in Oct 1999!

So, Demon Internet...not happy with the fact that they've been taking money from my bank account for 3 years without me noticing, but when I do actually stop the direct debit they decide to try and take a little more money through the court!

Now according to Demon's terms and conditions, unless you can provide a copy of the letter they're "supposed" to send you when you cancell, you're liable for the charges. I have a few problems with this...

  1. I'm supposed to keep a letter that was sent to an address I was moving from for over 4 years, just in case I might need it? Most businesses don't keep correspondance that long!
  2. This is assuming that Demon decide to send a letter! Having been told that the account was still active in December 2004, then cancelling it again...I still have no letter!
  3. Is this just me, or does it basically give Demon the right to keep taking money from you indefinitely...

Well, we'll see how the court appearance goes...I'm not the only person that has had this problem. Having contacted some other people that have had similar experiences and obtained copies of their correspondance, I'm quite looking forward to it. That coupled with my counter claim for monies already obtained under false pretences should make it interesting......I'll let you know.

So, having had my rant..I'm off to watch the rest of the Superbowl...Go Patriots!
