So another New Year's Eve survived and another new year begins. I'd like to thing that this one is going to be better than the last but given the way its started it looks like this one is already going downhill rapidly.

If you're wondering why there has been a distinct lack of anything new appearing here, I've been busy studying. Without going in to too much detail, my work situation is deteriorating rapidly and I'm probably going to need all the current certifications I can cram in before too long. So with that in mind I've been studying hard with a view to updating all my quals before the end of April. So don't expect too much new stuff to appear here in the next few months.

In between bouts of studying or when I need a break I've been playing around with linux. The main thing I've been working on is a couple of utilities to add functionality to Spamassassin. Hopefully they'll be appearing as open source in the next month or so, if I find the time to polish them up.

Away from the world of IT there's not much happening. My rental contract is up for renewal in the next month and I haven't heard anything yet so I'm expecting to be moving again in the next few weeks. Nothing I'm not used to I suppose, in fact this must be some kind of record. I havn't had a change of address in about 4 years.

A post here wouldn't be complete without a gripe of some description (I wouldn't want you thinking I'd been replaced by a clone or something!). My gripe for this post is the Living TV channel. Enough with the goddamn Sheila's Wheels shit already. The crazy frog stuff was bad enough, but three annoying bints in a pink cadillac and that annoying jingle is enough to make anyone crazy!
